News Summary

San Diego is gearing up for ‘The Wreckage,’ an immersive experience tied to FX’s new show ‘Alien: Earth’ at Comic-Con. Attendees can explore a crash site during the day and enjoy a more intense nighttime version known as ‘Code Red.’ With various panels and exclusive content, this year’s Comic-Con promises a thrilling adventure for fans of the sci-fi genre.

San Diego is abuzz as it prepares to host the highly-anticipated immersive experience titled “The Wreckage,” associated with FX’s upcoming show “Alien: Earth.” The event will take place at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, scheduled for July 24-27. Following a surprising reveal, the excitement around a crash-landed spaceship in front of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel has caused quite a stir among the fans and attendees.

The vessel, identified as the USCSS Maginot, was discovered in pieces on the grass outside the hotel. Observers saw workers carefully managing the remnants of the spacecraft, sparking rumors that it may have been carrier to an alien xenomorph. However, it has now been confirmed that the Maginot is a prop designed to enhance the experience of visitors attending the immersive activation, “The Wreckage.”

“The Wreckage” is set to promote the premiere of “Alien: Earth,” which will launch on FX and FX on Hulu on August 12, 2025. During the daytime portion of the experience, guests will have the opportunity to explore the elaborate crash site and search for clues pertaining to alien lifeforms. This engaging exploration aims to immerse fans in the world of the “Alien” franchise.

As the sun sets, the experience will transform into “The Wreckage: Code Red,” offering a more intense and terrifying adventure. This night version promises to deliver an exhilarating experience for attendees who dare to dive deeper into the world of sci-fi horror.

Additional interactive elements of “The Wreckage” include exclusive previews of alien specimens, alongside a Prodigy Corp Drop Site where fans can sign up as FX Insiders to take part in giveaway events. Virtual reality content launching alongside the show will also be at attendees’ disposal, further enhancing the immersive experience.

In addition to the unique experiences surrounding “The Wreckage,” the event will feature exclusive beverages themed within the in-universe narrative, available only to guests at San Diego Comic-Con. FX will also set up a podcast studio on-site for live tapings and commentary throughout the weekend, providing fans with unique content directly from the convention floor.

The overall Comic-Con event will showcase many other high-profile projects and experiences, including appearances from big names in the industry such as George Lucas and Guillermo del Toro. Aside from “Alien: Earth,” attendees can look forward to panels and experiences from multiple Disney shows, including “Percy Jackson” and “King of the Hill.”

Comic-Con will comprise 13 panels and celebrity signings, alongside a variety of fan experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities like a “King of the Hill” backyard cookout and an “Abbott Elementary” block party, ensuring a diverse range of entertainment options for attendees.

The activation of “The Wreckage” will be located at 1 Park Blvd., and it will be accessible to guests aged 18 and older.
