  • 11202 El Camino Real, San Diego: Flad Architects received accolades for their extensive life science campus spanning 515,000 square feet. Recognized for its striking facades, green roofs, and thoughtfully designed plazas, the project was described as “interesting, thoughtful, beautifully done.”
  • 6610 Nancy Ridge Drive, San Diego: Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects transformed a previously utilized warehouse into a modern life sciences laboratory. The project stands out for its adaptive reuse and clear architectural vision.
  • 1245 Seventh Ave., San Diego: HGA’s enhancements to the Jacobs Music Center were commended for improving circulation and support spaces, alongside mechanical upgrades that enrich the venue.
  • Corner of 55th Street and El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego: LPA Design Studios developed an eight-story modular community featuring 172 apartments crafted from recycled shipping containers, noted for its design innovation and sustainability.
  • 9240 Herbert York Lane, La Jolla: LPA Design Studios completed seismic retrofits for UC San Diego, successfully maintaining the mid-century character of the building while ensuring structural safety.
  • 1550 El Prado, San Diego: Platt/Whitelaw Architects, Inc. rehabilitated the iconic Botanical Building in Balboa Park at a cost of $26.5 million, earning praise for preserving its historical integrity.
  • 7960 Civita Blvd., San Diego: Carrier Johnson + Culture’s Civita Master Plan was recognized for its focus on walkability and ecological restoration, breathing new life into a post-industrial site.
  • Aqua Caliente 4558-1402, Colonia Aviacion, Tijuana: Designed by Saen Studio, this office space is appreciated for its use of natural materials and refined execution, reflecting the growing architectural ambitions in Tijuana.
  • Tyler West: A recent architectural graduate was recognized for designing an ecology-focused charter school that includes features aimed at facilitating environmental education.
