The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) arrested Michael William Howard, 41, after officers on duty at the festival identified him based on his description as a wanted violent sexual predator.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that Howard was taken into custody after officers approached him, having been alerted to his presence due to ongoing concerns regarding his alleged previous offenses. Howard faces multiple felony charges, including kidnapping to commit rape, sodomy of an intoxicated victim, and sodomy by force. During his court arraignment, he entered a plea of not guilty to these charges.
The specific incident that led to the charges reportedly occurred on July 13 and involved one victim, according to Deputy District Attorney Peter Estes.
