The San Diego State Football Team showcases their new uniforms ahead of the 2025 season.
The San Diego State Football Team is set to embrace a new beginning with the launch of its 2025 season, showcasing fresh uniforms and the slogan ‘Blood in. Blood out.’ With a sleek black uniform for home games and a stylish white one for away contests, the Aztecs aim to revamp their image ahead of joining the Pac-12 Conference. Players will also be sporting matching red cleats to complement the new designs. As the team prepares for challenges ahead, hopes are high for a successful season following a tough previous year.
San Diego — The San Diego State Football Team is set to launch its 2025 season with a fresh look and a powerful new slogan: “Blood in. Blood out.” The announcement comes as the team aims to revamp its image ahead of its inaugural season in the Pac-12 Conference next year. A video showcasing the new uniforms was released on July 17, 2025, across SDSU Football’s social media platforms, generating excitement among fans and players alike.
The 2025 season will see the Aztecs donning two unique variations of their new jerseys: a sleek black uniform for home games and a crisp white uniform for away contests. Each design features a striking new red collar and the SDSU Athletics logo prominently stitched to the front. Notably, the words “San Diego State” have been removed from above the player’s jersey number, in an effort to convey a more elite and streamlined look, emphasizing that top-tier teams do not necessarily need to display their full name on their uniforms.
Complementing the eye-catching uniforms, players will sport red cleats that harmonize with the vibrant new collar. The distinctive Aztec artwork will continue to be an integral part of the team’s identity, showcased on the helmets and the trim of both uniform variations. SDSU offensive lineman Ross Ulugalu-Maseuli modeled the black uniform, while cornerback Chris Johnson presented the white version for the social media announcement.
The Aztecs will officially open their 2025 season on August 28 against the Stony Brook Seawolves at Snapdragon Stadium. This season marks a pivotal moment for the team as it gears up to transition from the Mountain West Conference to the Pac-12 in 2026, making it the last year the team will wear the Mountain West Conference logo.
Last season, SDSU faced challenges, finishing with a 3-9 record and securing only two wins out of four home games. The hope is that the new uniforms and the motivating slogan will inspire both players and fans, fostering a renewed energy as they work towards a more successful outcome in the upcoming season.
In preparation for the 2025 season, SDSU will hold fall camp, allowing players to sharpen their skills and build team cohesion before the games begin. Additionally, the Aztecs’ players will represent the team at the Mountain West football media days in Las Vegas. Head coach Sean Lewis will accompany the players, joining other head coaches from the conference to discuss team strategies, expectations, and the upcoming season’s prospects.
The combination of new uniforms, a powerful slogan, and a fresh start signals a significant transition for the San Diego State Football Team. As they prepare for their season opener and a shift to the Pac-12, the Aztecs are poised for new challenges ahead, with the hopes of revitalizing their performance and engagement with fans. SDSU looks forward to making a statement in the 2025 season, both on and off the field.
