El Cajon, California – A three-vehicle crash in the unincorporated Crest community east of El Cajon resulted in at least one fatality Saturday evening. The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision took place at the intersection of Dehesa and Sloan Canyon roads at approximately 6:49 p.m. Witnesses noted that one of the vehicles involved was a Honda Pilot. Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after, and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office was called at 7:29 p.m. The extent and details regarding additional injuries linked to this crash have not been immediately disclosed.
In another tragic incident, the Lake Nona High School community is grieving the loss of senior Anthony Sanchez, who succumbed to injuries from a fiery crash involving three students. Meanwhile, in Crest Hill, Illinois, emergency crews worked for over 30 minutes to rescue a pickup truck driver who became trapped beneath a fuel tanker truck before 12:30 a.m. Friday. This incident occurred after the tanker had refueled at the Speedway gas station on Plainfield Road. The pickup truck sustained extensive damage, and the driver was found to have serious injuries. Police later discovered that the driver was impaired, leading to a DUI and other traffic-related arrests. Fortunately, the tanker truck driver was unharmed.
