Tensions rise during an ICE immigration enforcement operation in San Diego

When an ICE agent attempted to secure the area and grabbed her forearms after she pressed against the police tape, Wong reportedly slapped the agent in the face, knocking his face covering down.
Rupley took further action during the raid as she attempted to block the arrest of another individual. Authorities reported that she had attempted to return to the scene after being escorted away two times and hit an ICE agent in the face in her attempt to interfere with the operation. Both women were subsequently arrested on-site for their actions during the incident.
The San Diego Police Department was called for assistance during the situation but reiterated that they do not engage in immigration enforcement.
