San Diego, CA – Marvel Rivals has officially launched its highly anticipated third season titled “The Abyss Awakens,” set to release on July 11. The announcement was made during San Diego Comic-Con, where fans flocked to witness new gameplay features, character introductions, and special events planned for the game.
The Marvel Rivals experience will be open to attendees at the Comic-Con from Thursday, July 24, through Sunday, July 27. Players can explore the latest updates, including new playable heroes, game maps, and competitive modes. This season not only introduces Phoenix and Blade as heroes but also unfolds a new map called Klyntar: Celestial Husk, which represents the homeworld of the symbiotes.
Marvel Rivals, a team-based 6v6 hero shooter developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games, continues to evolve as it welcomes new features. This includes limited-time events, enhanced gameplay mechanics, and updates to the battle pass system.
This season brings two iconic characters into the fold. Phoenix, classified as a Duelist, will utilize her telepathic and telekinetic powers during gameplay. Blade is slated to be added later during Season 3, alongside new competitive modes for players to engage in.
Each character’s abilities will be distinctive, allowing for varied gameplay strategies. Additionally, Knull, the King in Black and God of Symbiotes, has been introduced as a major antagonist for players to confront during their missions.
A significant aspect of the Comic-Con presence includes the panel titled “Marvel Rivals: Hero Creation from Concept to Showcase,” scheduled for Friday, July 25. This panel will focus on the development process of the heroes featured in the game.
Attendees of the event will also have opportunities to try out playable demos of the game and receive exclusive giveaways. The Marvel Rivals experience is set to take place at the Marriott Marquis, promising an immersive environment for fans to engage with the new season.
Marvel Rivals aims to keep its community engaged with a plan to roll out a new season every two months following the launch of The Abyss Awakens. Adding depth to the gaming experience, the upcoming updates will feature a new battle pass system and enhanced mission customization options.
