From July 26 to August 31, individuals can receive hour-long consultations with professional designers for a $115 donation. This initiative addresses unique design challenges faced by renters and aims to enhance living spaces while supporting local design programs. Registration will be open from July 1 to 15, and the program aims to connect clients with suitable designers throughout San Diego County.
San Diego – The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) San Diego chapter has launched a new initiative called the “Summer Spruce Up” program, aimed at providing affordable home design consultations for both homeowners and renters. This program is set to begin with consultations available from July 26 through August 31, after registration runs from July 1 to 15.
Homeowners and renters interested in improving their living spaces can engage in hour-long consultations with professional interior designers, who will volunteer their time. Each consultation requires a donation of $115 to the ASID, which will benefit local chapter programs. This initiative expands the program’s accessibility by now including renters, a demographic often faced with unique design challenges.
Beverly Feldman, president of the ASID San Diego chapter, highlighted the program’s focus on affordability and its relevance to renters. Many individuals living in rented spaces confront constraints related to size and personalization that do not allow for significant alterations without risking their security deposits. The program aims to address these constraints while providing valuable design advice.
The consultations are designed to tackle various design issues. Participants can seek advice on furniture placement, choosing colors, selecting window treatments, and other home enhancement strategies. Additionally, the designers can assist with specialized areas such as aging-in-place solutions, kitchen and bathroom remodels, optimizing outdoor spaces, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and accommodating multigenerational living arrangements. This versatility allows clients to receive tailored advice based on their specific needs and circumstances.
