San Diego will be the next host for the highly anticipated Malibu Barbie Café, set to open on July 11, 2025, at Bayside Kitchen and Bar, located at 2137 Pacific Highway. This immersive pop-up experience has been brought to life by Mattel in collaboration with Bucket Listers, following successful runs in other major cities like New York, Chicago, and Austin.
The San Diego location aims to transport visitors back to the 1970s with a Malibu daydream atmosphere characterized by retro-glam décor, vibrant colors, and beach-themed motifs. Guests can expect numerous photo opportunities, including a life-size Barbie Box, making it an ideal visit for both Barbie fans and social media enthusiasts.
Each reservation at the café lasts 90 minutes and includes seated dining along with access to the Barbie x Impala Skate Rink. Skating on the rink is available for just $1, with all proceeds benefitting the American Red Cross. This makes it not just a fun destination but also a community-supporting experience.
The range of culinary offerings is sure to delight attendees, as the menu has been crafted by Master Chef finalist and Chopped Champion Becky Brown.
