San Diego – Renowned painter, illustrator, and designer Alex Pardee is set to return to San Diego Comic-Con this summer, showcasing exclusive merchandise and new artwork offerings at Booth #5503. Fans of his distinctive “Brightmares” art style can expect a variety of exclusive items, including tees, pins, prints, and a new character design called Labubu that makes a statement against familiar plastic iconography.
The Labubu tee, priced at $30 during the convention, features a design aimed at challenging the conventionality of popular toy concepts. For pre-orders, the shirt is available for $35-$38, while the Labubu pin will cost attendees $10 at the event or $12 for online pre-orders, with four different colorways to choose from. Pre-orders for all exclusive items are currently available and will be shipped after the convention concludes.
In addition to the Labubu merchandise, Pardee’s latest offerings include two limited trading cards as part of his partnership with Variantz. An exclusive early edition trading card titled “Necro-Comic-Con” will be available for $75, limited to just 250 pieces and can be purchased starting on Preview Night. To accompany these offerings, Pardee plans to introduce additional new tees and pins at the event, creating a buzz among fans and collectors alike.
Attendees will also benefit from promotions on purchases, where spending over $50 will earn customers a special lanyard. Furthermore, an exclusive screen print titled “The Thing” will be featured, limited to only 10 copies priced at $200, which will be located at Booth #5502. Other Comic-Con exclusive items include fresh pins and a vinyl toy.
Pardee’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in his personal experiences, having begun as a form of therapy following a hospitalization at age 14. His artistic oeuvre typically combines horror elements with bright colors, resulting in what is often described as “colorful terror.” His designs draw inspiration from a range of sources including Garbage Pail Kids, skateboard graphics, and comic series like Tales from the Crypt.
The exhibit titled “Return of the Doppelgangers” is one of the highlights of Pardee’s participation in the convention, featuring a broad array of horror-themed characters including some familiar from popular cinema. Throughout his career, Pardee has seen his work appear in films and has collaborated with multiple artists, further bolstering his presence in the entertainment industry. Currently, he operates his own fashion line known as House Pardee, while also engaging in upcoming film projects.
In addition to his art displays, Pardee has embraced technology by engaging with fans through streaming sessions where he collaborates on art projects and raises funds for charitable causes. Looking ahead, Pardee has plans to continue his collaboration with Topps through Project70, which will feature additional baseball cards.
As San Diego Comic-Con approaches, fans of Alex Pardee are advised to prepare for an exciting array of exclusive merchandise, bolstered by his unique artistic vision and dedication to connecting with his audience.
