A San Diego judge has issued a 100-yard stay-away order for Lisa Golden after suspicious fires occurred at her Ocean View Hills residence. The fires are under investigation, particularly as $200,000 from an insurance payout connected to the first fire has vanished. Court reports suggest Golden has repeatedly trespassed on the property, raising suspicions about her involvement. Neighbors have reported troubling behavior from her over the years. Golden’s struggles to retrieve personal belongings from the property, coupled with legal complaints against her, have intensified the scrutiny of her case.
San Diego – A San Diego judge has issued a 100-yard stay-away order for Lisa Golden, following two suspicious fires at her residence in Ocean View Hills. This legal decision was prompted by a court-appointed receiver’s report that indicated Golden repeatedly trespassed on the property despite previous court directives restraining her from doing so.
In yet another unsettling twist, it has come to light that $200,000 from an insurance payout linked to the first fire has mysteriously disappeared. This insurance money was paid to Golden’s ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Rogers, who is responsible for the mortgage on the property that had been set at a value higher than the proposed sale price.
A recent analysis revealed that the home, initially valued at $592,000, would now be sold for approximately $500,000 — a significant reduction of $92,000. This adjusted sale price is notably lower than the surrounding neighborhood’s average market value.
Deputy City Attorney David Miller highlighted the concerning situation surrounding Golden, noting that there are “too many coincidences” regarding her presence at the property during the times of the fires. A report informed that both fires took place on scheduled cleanup days, which adds to the ongoing investigation into the incidents.
Accounts from neighbors corroborate that Golden was seen at her property on the morning of the second fire, furthering the suspicions against her non-compliance with court orders. The attorney representing the receiver, Neil Sheaffer, indicated that measures have been taken to secure the property from further incidents. All doors and windows have been reinforced with metal panels and supplemented with 24-hour security monitoring.
Golden’s legal troubles have not emerged overnight; they stem from a series of complaints from neighbors over the years regarding instances of harassment. Reports include disturbing behavior such as cursing at children and making threats towards news crews. Due to these ongoing issues and multiple failed cleanup orders, a receiver was appointed last year to oversee the property, which had been plagued with hoarding problems.
During a recent virtual court appearance, Golden voiced concerns that the receiver was hindering her ability to retrieve personal belongings from the home. In response, Sheaffer accused Golden of harassing their office. Given these circumstances, the judge instructed Golden to coordinate with her attorney and a designated third party in relation to recovering her possessions while adhering to the mandated 100-yard distance from the property.
The suspicious fires at the Ocean View Hills home continue to be under intense scrutiny by investigators, with follow-up hearings scheduled for June 13. Meanwhile, the sale of the property remains ongoing at the newly reduced price.
