News Summary

Comic-Con is set to return to San Diego with much anticipation as fans await announcements for panels and presentations. This year, highlights include popular series from networks like ABC, CBS, and Hulu. Fans are eager to see both live-action and animated shows, with some returning hits alongside new offerings. Despite some notable absences from the lineup, the excitement around Comic-Con 2025 continues to build as the convention approaches.

San Diego is gearing up for the highly anticipated Comic-Con event scheduled for July 23-27, 2025, at the San Diego Convention Center. Attendees are eagerly awaiting the official announcements from networks and Comic-Con International regarding the panels and presentations at this year’s event. Television programming has increasingly taken center stage at Comic-Con, drawing in massive crowds and generating excitement among fans.

This year, the panel announcements will be divided into three main categories: Cable & Streaming Networks, Broadcast Networks, and Movies. Of particular interest is the lineup of broadcast television series, which has fans buzzing with anticipation over which shows will be featured at this year’s convention.

ABC may return to Comic-Con, following their successful showcasing of the hit series “Abbott Elementary” at the previous year’s event. The well-received in-person panel, along with an engaging offsite experience, set a high standard for future appearances. Fans are also hoping to see “The Rookie,” especially with the popular Nathan Fillion potentially reprising his role at the event. Another series likely making an appearance is “High Potential,” which did not feature last year. Starring Kaitlin Olson, well-known for her comedic work in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” this show has generated excitement among attendees.

CBS has established a strong presence at Comic-Con with its comedy “Ghosts,” which consistently fills the large Ballroom 20. Following its recent renewal for both a fifth and sixth season, fans can expect to see promotional activities and discussions surrounding the series. Additionally, “Tracker,” led by Justin Hartley, could also return to Comic-Con after its positive reception last year.

Meanwhile, The CW may have a quieter presence, as their only ongoing DC series, “Superman & Lois,” has been concluded. This may limit the network’s appearances or the lineup of panels scheduled for Comic-Con.

Animation panels are anticipated to maintain their traditional dominance at the event, with confirmed back-to-back sessions featuring popular shows such as “The Simpsons,” “American Dad!,” and “Family Guy.” Hulu’s revival of “Futurama” is also expected to take part in this animated lineup. Furthermore, animated favorites “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Great North” will likely return, alongside the renewed series “Krapopolis.” This underlines the continued popularity of animated programming among Comic-Con attendees.

On the live-action front, a series titled “Memory of a Killer” is expected to make an appearance at the con. Based on a Belgian novel about a hitman grappling with Alzheimer’s, this show adds a unique offering to the programming slate.

While NBC’s offerings for the convention seem limited, they may focus more on the company’s Peacock streaming service. Possible appearances for NBC include shows like “The Hunting Party,” although a full event program is yet to be confirmed.

Several fan-favorite shows will not be present this year, either due to cancellations or because they have concluded their runs, leading to some disappointments among Comic-Con enthusiasts. Despite these exclusions, the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con promises an exciting array of panels and presentations covering a variety of genres.

With the convention date drawing closer, the anticipation continues to build among fans and creators alike. Comic-Con 2025 is shaping up to be another exciting chapter in the history of showcasing television and film entertainment.
