San Diego – The University of San Diego men’s soccer program has officially announced its full schedule for the fall 2025 season, which follows a remarkable 2024 campaign where they reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. This announcement was made on May 19, 2025, highlighting what is expected to be a demanding schedule for the Toreros, who are three-time defending champions of the West Coast Conference (WCC).

The 2025 season will kick off on August 21 when the Toreros travel to Durham to face the 10th-ranked Duke University, marking a repeat of a significant match-up from the previous year. This high-profile opener is among several challenging fixtures, as USD will compete against six additional NCAA Tournament programs throughout the season.

Head coach Brian Quinn regards the newly released schedule as both “challenging and exciting,” indicating that the team will have opportunities to further bolster its competitive edge as it aims to maintain its formidable reputation in collegiate soccer.

Before the official season commencement, the Toreros will host a free exhibition match against UNLV at their home ground, Torero Stadium, on August 15 at 7:00 p.m. This event will give fans a preview of the team ahead of a demanding slate of games.

Following the exhibition, USD will begin its regular season by embarking on a road trip for the first four matches, starting with the showdown against Duke, followed by another away game against Furman on August 24 at 11:00 a.m. PT. A rematch against Denver is also scheduled for August 28, which will bring back memories of their prior encounter in the First Round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

The first intra-city contest will take place on September 1 when USD faces off against crosstown rival San Diego State at their opponents’ venue. After these crucial early matches, the Toreros will return home to Torero Stadium for a five-match homestand to conclude their non-conference schedule. The home opener will occur on September 4, with a match against California Baptist at 7:00 p.m.

Additional non-conference matchups will see the Toreros compete against teams such as UC Santa Barbara, Kansas City, UC Irvine, and UC San Diego throughout September. The WCC conference play is slated to begin on September 27, with a pivotal game against Santa Clara. The first home game for the conference will occur on October 4, hosting San Francisco.

Significant upcoming matchups during the conference schedule include a face-off against LMU on October 15, a game against Seattle on October 18, and a Halloween match against Pacific on October 31. The regular season will culminate on November 15 when the Toreros take on Oregon State.

As the season progresses, the Toreros will also celebrate Senior Day on November 8 against Gonzaga, recognizing the contributions of their senior players to the program. The team’s roster is expected to return a significant number of key contributors from the previous season, bolstering their chances of continuing the success they have seen in recent years.

With a combination of high-stakes matchups, archrival contests, and the return of experienced players, the USD men’s soccer team is gearing up for another intense and competitive season ahead. The Toreros hope to build on their impressive performances from the previous year as they aim for further achievements in the upcoming fall campaign.
