Live Nation Launches Ticket To Summer Promotion in San Diego

News Summary

Live Nation has introduced its summer promotion, Ticket To Summer, replacing the decade-long National Concert Week. Starting May 15, music fans in San Diego can access discounted tickets for 27 concerts, including the Outlaw Music Festival with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. The initiative runs until October 18, featuring 14 concerts at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre. While ticket prices have increased, the program aims to provide fans with affordable access to live music this summer, although fewer discounted concerts are available compared to previous years.

San Diego – Live Nation has launched a new summer promotion called Ticket To Summer, which will replace the previously established National Concert Week program after a decade of offering discounted tickets. This initiative aims to provide music fans in San Diego with access to over two dozen concerts at reduced prices throughout the summer season.

The Ticket To Summer program kicks off on May 15 with the highly anticipated Outlaw Music Festival, featuring performances by legendary artists Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, held at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre. It will conclude on October 18 with a concert by Judas Priest and Alice Cooper, also at the same venue. A total of 27 discounted concerts will be available, with 14 of them taking place at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, the largest outdoor venue in San Diego, boasting a capacity of 19,442 attendees.

Other notable venues participating in this summer’s concert series include Gallagher Square at Petco Park and the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU. However, indoor venues that were part of the National Concert Week, such as The Magnolia, House of Blues, and The Observatory, will not be included in the new initiative.

This year’s offering marks a significant decrease in the number of discounted concerts compared to last year’s National Concert Week, which featured 117 shows. Tickets for the new program will be available for $30, up from the $25 price point of previous years. This price increase has been attributed to rising costs associated with concert tours and a broader trend of escalating ticket prices across the nation, which averaged $135.92 last year.

The Ticket To Summer program will extend discounts to more than 1,000 Live Nation venues across both the U.S. and Canada. While major acts like Rod Stewart, Avril Lavigne, Kesha, Slightly Stoopid, and Pierce The Veil are not currently on the San Diego schedule, they are part of the larger program.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale on May 21 at 10 a.m., available through the official livenation.com website. A pre-sale event will occur on May 20 at 10 a.m. specifically for T-Mobile customers and individuals who register at rakuten.com. Discounted tickets will be sold while supplies last.

Concert schedules will continue to be updated, with more performances set to be announced in the coming weeks. Some of the confirmed artists performing this summer include Nelly, The Pixies, Brad Paisley, Billy Idol, Lucy Dacus, and Little Big Town.

This transition to the Ticket To Summer initiative signals a new direction for Live Nation after a successful decade of providing concert discounts through National Concert Week. As music fans in San Diego gear up for an exciting summer filled with live music, this program offers a fresh opportunity to enjoy performances at a more accessible price point.
